How are you showing up in the world?
Did you know that representatives from over 192 countries are meeting today for the United Nations Water Conference in Bali? This morning, I woke up and walked a few feet to the kitchen faucet. I poured a cool, clear, glass of safe drinking water to start my day. Moreover, I had a functional, private, toilet and shower because there is plenty of safe running water in my home. On another continent, before the sun woke up today Sahara trekked miles to the nearest water source near her village. She filled a container with a cloudy brown fluid, placed it on her head and slowly made her way home. This liquid life force was first given to the goats. They provide economic relief to her family. After the animals drank, Sahara’s family shared the remaining water. Water uncertainty has increased in war zones, and weather compromised areas throughout the world. This week marks the 31st year that people have focused global attention on access to fresh drinking water and sanitation. I am grateful for easy access to plenty of safe, freshwater. How are you showing up in the world?
$100.00: for self-care. I am researching and buying portable water filters for hiking and my “emergency Go Bag.” When I take care of myself, I create possibilities that contribute sustainable solutions for all. And I love that!
