Today is the 129th Day of 2025.
We have $129,000.00 today.
10% savings = $12,900.00
40% taxes = $51,600.00: This week I am expressing gratitude for these tax dollars being spent to support the Hot Springs National Park. Located in the state of Arkansas. The Hot Springs National Park was established in 1921. You will find among other wonders more than 45 geothermal pools or naturally heated springs, a Horseshoe Mountain Ridge and Historic Bathhouses to explore. LEARN MORE HERE!
How will you be spending the remaining $64,500.00 today?
HERE IS MY PLAN: Public Library Book Bikes
“It was through bikes that I learned how to be a kid again. How to be comfortable in solitude.” — T.A. Rhodes
How are you showing up in the world?
hopped on two wheels this morning and peddled half a mile to the mailbox and back before sitting down at my home computer to write. When I was five years old my dad took the training wheels off Starlight, my royal blue bicycle. Luckily, we had a lush lawn breaking my falls. It did not take long for me to find my balance, as well as freedom. I have fond memories of a neighborhood overflowing with children riding their bikes. We created many adventures with our trusty, wheeled steeds. When was the last time you rode a bike with friends? Today is the 69th National Ride Your Bike to Work-Day. The League of American Bicyclists say that life is better for everyone when more people ride bikes. The first time they challenged the nation to ride their bike to work was May 1956. Biking is an alternative transportation choice, an environmental action statement for the wellbeing of earth, and simply a health regime for others. Then of course riding a bike can simply be fun. I feel like a kid again as the wind blows through my hair as I race to the mailbox on two wheels. How are you showing up in the world?
$100.00: for self-care. My bicycle is getting an annual tune-up. And I love that!
$0: Priceless: Freedom with Bicycles and Books
“ A boy told me
if he roller-skated fast enough
his loneliness couldn’t catch up to him,
the best reason I ever heard
for trying to be a champion.
What I wonder tonight
pedaling hard down King William Street
is if it translates to bicycles.
A victory! To leave your loneliness
panting behind you on some street corner
while you float free into a cloud of sudden azaleas,
pink petals that have never felt loneliness,
no matter how slowly they fell.”
— Naomi Shihabe Nye
Since 2008 some communities have been lucky enough to have a Book Bike program. It consists of a bicycle pulling a box cart full of books to give away or lend to a person who might not have access to books otherwise. Does your public library system have a Book Bike program? If not, I invite you to consider riding your bike to a Little Free Library in your community. Drop off a book or take one to read. You might find me riding my bike, wearing a backpack stuffed with books to put into the Free Little Libraries in our community. This week marks the 16th anniversary of the first Free Little Library in the world. Respond to life with love. Repeat. What would it take?
$26,900.00: I am sponsoring a Public Library Book Bike program in my community. Learn more about the history and how to create a book bike program for your community here!
$40,000.00: I am contributing to two grassroots organizations. Each organization will receive $20,000. The first one is in Denver, called Bikes Together. And the second is in Missoula, called Free Cycles. These dollars are supporting their Bike Distribution Programs. These programs inspire hope through providing alternative transportation to those in need. “Bikes Together programs redistribute lovingly refurbished adult bicycles through partnerships with community organizations.” LEARN MORE HERE! and LEARN MORE HERE!
Everyone can do something to make a difference. What if it is up to us? What can you choose now? Respond with love.
$1000.00: for a date with my husband that includes going to the annual church yard sale. We are hunting for a few good books to read and pass on.
How loved can you stand it?
Flow Five Friday: Current “real” life expressions of gratitude, love, and contribution to wellbeing.
$5.00: This week’s five-dollar bill is inside the book called The Fabulous Flying Bicycle written by Glen Dines. Someone will find it inside a Free Little Library. I am choosing to be the energy of what works in life.
Five Increments of Time: This week I helped a few friends brainstorm dream ideas to participate in the next Dream Nudge Challenge that starts on Monday. I also received an inspiring email about how another friend is currently living her best dream life now. Being there. How are you “Flowing Five” this week?
Well-Being: Something that I am doing or not doing for self-care in real time.
When riding a bike, I wear a bike helmet to protect my brain.
What are you doing or not doing for self-care?
Planet Awareness: Contributing to the health of Earth.
“Do what you can, with what you have, where you are.”-President Teddy Roosevelt
I am planting seeds of hope in the heart of humanity each time I recycle used books in a Free Little Library.
What are you doing for the health of our planet?
Hold Space or Contribute to a Friends Life Intention
This week I am supporting my friend Kylie. One of her living intentions is to create a seed bank. Kylie is a volunteer at a community organic garden in her local area. Over the last few years, she has learned how to harvest and store seeds. Kylie’s plan is to trade these seeds with other organic gardeners to generate more food to share with the community. One way that you can help support Kylie’s living intention is to buy organic produce at your local Farmers Market this year. Invest in your community gardens.
Choose joy. Be kind. Love others and strive to be a better human. What would it take?
