HERE IS MY PLAN: Legacies of Love

“The reason the grandchildren will benefit by the launched rockets that you’ve set forth; is because they’re born with no resistance to the rockets of desires that you’ve launched forth… You’ve seen those little ones on computers? They have no problem with that. They were born with computers in their life; they’re born Ai-ready. They’re already up to speed with what you’ve launched into the vibrational future. And that’s one of the reasons that it’s nice when the old generations leave and the new ones come in, because it sort of dilutes the resistance factor that’s going on on this planet.” -Ester Hicks

How are you showing up in the world?

Today is the start of Father’s Day weekend and the annual celebration of Juneteenth. This year marks the 160th anniversary of the emancipation of slaves in the Confederate South. President Lincoln signed the law to abolish slavery in 1862, but news moved slowly in those times. Through the efforts of our fathers’ fathers and great, great grandfathers’ hope emerged. Each generation has challenges to face. We make choices, solve problems, and create new possibilities.  As a company executive, my dad led and fostered affirmative action in his workplace. I remember family dinner conversations where dad explained the turmoil and resistance new directives can create. He said that employees were scared to work with people of different races and genders. Dad advocated the importance of being a change agent. He opened our young minds to imagine and take actions to believe in a better world for each person. Today we are invited to rise above fear mongers, see each other with open hearts and contribute more kindness for all. How are you serving humanity? Be a better human. Respond to life with love. Repeat. What would it take?

How are you showing up in the world?

$100.00: Self-care. Traditionally on Father’s Day weekend I frame a photo of my dad.  The collection of his photos over time provides easy access to remember his lessons of love. This year’s photo is a snapshot from a family event where we visited a horse farm in New Jersey.  Family is one of dad’s legacies of love.

$0: Priceless: Remembering Dad.

“A father carries pictures where his money used to be.”-Steve Martin

The summer when I turned seven years old, I was riding a pony at my dad’s company picnic.  Each pony was guided by a teenage girl who walked around a designated circle and ensured that the young riders did not fall out of the saddle.  The teenagers chatted with each other as they led the ponies. One said, “Hey do you see that guy in the maroon shirt over there?” I turned to look and saw the blond-haired guy she was talking about across the field. He was in a crowd watching the aerobatics of a remote-controlled airplane fleet. The girl continued to say, “well my dad says he is the worst man in the whole company.” I said, “That man is my dad!”  The girls gasped. Then like a warrior ready for battle, I leaped off the pony and dashed across the field to warn my dad of evil lurking on his team. What I learned at seven is the importance of speaking with kindness about others. You never know whose child is listening to your words. Be a better human.

$33,000: These dollars are being added to an endowment directed to support the next generation of change agents with education scholarships in dad’s name.

$17,900: These dollars are supporting a local Juneteenth celebration. Equality, equity, and freedom for all depends on our choices today.

$30,000: These dollars are being donated to the United Nations in dad’s name.

“The United Nations (UN) is an intergovernmental organization whose purpose is to maintain international peace and security, develop friendly relations among nations, achieve international cooperation, and be a center for harmonizing the actions of nations.”

I am consciously expanding humanity for the world by focusing on kindness to contribute to a better world for all. Our choices today are key to generating peace and well-being on Earth. Imagine safe communities for all. Everyone can do something to make a difference. It is up to us. What can you choose now? Respond to life with love. Repeat. What would it take?

$1000.00: for a date with my husband that includes one of our Father Day traditions. We are making homemade pizza from scratch. He learned how to make pizza from his dad. We will be swapping dad stories as he spins and flips pizza dough.

How loved can you stand it?

Flow Five Friday: Current “real” life expressions of gratitude, love, and contribution to wellbeing.

$5.00: This week’s five-dollar bill is inside the book called My Father’s List by Laura Carney. The book is currently somewhere inside a Free Little Library.  I am choosing to be the energy of what works in life.

Five Increments of Time: This is my first Father’s Day without dad. I spent time talking with siblings and telling our dad stories. These conversations are more valuable since dad is gone. Luckily, he lives freely in our hearts and his legacies are found in our shared stories. Here are some of Dads go to sayings over the years:

·       “I love you.”

·       “Stay out of my tomatoes!”

·       “What have you done for God and Country today?”

·       “Do something for others. Volunteer.”

·       “Be a community leader.”

·       “Provide, guide and protect your family.”

·       “Go Outside.” “Wear sunscreen.”

·       “Work hard and play hard.”

·       “Have fun. Work, Dance, Swim, Fish, Garden, Golf.”

·       “Just go to bed already!”

Being there. How are you “Flowing Five” this week?

Well-Being: Something that I am doing or not doing for self-care in real time.

I had my blood drawn to review my health “numbers” with the medical team. All is well. What are you doing or not doing for self-care?

Planet Awareness: Contributing to the health of Earth.

The luxury of clean, safe, drinking water. One simple way to be environmentally kinder is to stop letting water run continually as you brush your teeth each day. That small action can save millions of gallons of water when generations choose to be conscious as they brush their teeth. What are you doing for the health of our planet?

Hold Space or Contribute to a Friends Life Intention

This week I am supporting my friend Wendy who is moving into a new space. One of her Living Intentions is to be a loving daughter. She bought a house that has a separate section for her aging parents to live close to and still feel some independence. One way that you can help support Wendy’s living intention is to imagine that the move into the new space goes way better than she can even imagine. What are you doing to prioritize your wellbeing this week?

Choose joy. Be kind. Love others and strive to be a better human. What would it take?
