How are you showing up in the world?

My friend Angela went to another “Senior Luncheon” this week. Senior Luncheon is her code for funeral or celebration of life. She was traveling to the event with her sister, and they decided to get coffee at McDonalds on route. It started to pour rain, just as she was navigating the beverage carrier to open the door. However, in front of the exit was an elderly woman juggling three fancy whipped cream topped drinks. My friend said a young man leaped over the McDonalds counter to whisk that woman’s drinks out of her hands. He instructed her to hold his arm, and he helped walk the woman and fancy drinks to her car.  Kindness is alive and well. Angela said she was so taken aback by his act of kindness that she waited for his return. She told him that she felt like she witnessed an Earth Angel in service because of his random act of kindness. He simply said it was the “right” thing to do. How are you showing up in the world?

$100.00: Self-care. These dollars are being spent at a local “pick your own” berry farm just down the road. Summer is full of extra adventures. And I love that!

$0: Priceless: Democracy

May we rise together for better as Democracy is being challenged like never before in our country’s history. Be willing to ask questions and wonder what the dismantling of the Federal systems is trying to show us, the CLEAR seeing of which will change everything? In times of great change, I find peace when reading Steven Charleston of the Choctaw Nation’s message. May peace be with you today.

$87,900.00: these dollars are supporting a local food pantry to ensure our community has access to fresh, locally grown produce. Feeding the community and supporting local farmers too. I am consciously expanding humanity for the world by focusing on being kinder. Everyone can do something to make a difference. Respond to life with love. Repeat. What would it take?

$1000.00: for a date with my husband that includes working on a 1000-piece puzzle to exercise our brains and spend time playing together.

$5.00: this week’s five-dollar bill was sent to a woman owned berry farm called Aspen Grove Farm. The address is PO Box 32 Corvallis, MT 59828. I am choosing to be the energy of what works in life.

Five Increments of Time: This week I listened to Clare read from one of her summer library book selections. The book is called One Crazy Summer written by Rita Williams Garcia. Listening to a ten-year-old read, priceless. Being there; how does it get better than that? How are you “Flowing Five” this week?

Well-Being: Something that I am doing or not doing for self-care in real time.

I scheduled time to work on art projects this week. Being creative expands my joy. What are you doing or not doing for self-care?

Planet Awareness: Contributing to the health of Earth.

Yay! It’s time for Summer Farmer Markets, Festivals, and Art Fairs. These events make it easier to buy locally grown or handmade items. We can support local jobs and less transportation fuel usage. And I love that!  What if we can help ourselves and Mother Earth as easily as buying locally sourced items?  Each year at this time I support Melissa who is a single mom in my community. She is a farmer, working on the land, and supporting her family with juicy, tasty, berries. Visit her website to learn more, read her story, and maybe order some homemade jam!

This week I am supporting my friend Carmen who is a podcast host, author, loving mom, and entrepreneur.  One of her Living Intentions is to help people prepare and reinvent themselves for retirement. Although retirement is a few years out for Carmen, she is actively engaged in creating projects to generate extra income and fundraising for organizations in her communities.
