Inspiration: Happy Friday!
Today is the 248th Day of 2025.
We have $248,000.00 today.
10% savings = $24,800.00
40% taxes = $96,400.00: This week I am expressing gratitude for these tax dollars being spent to support Redwood National Park located in the state of California. Redwood officially became a National Park in 1968. You will find among other wonders 40 miles of coastline, some of the world’s tallest trees, old growth redwood forests, and stunning bridges like the Redwood Sky Walk to explore. LEARN MORE HERE!
How will you spend the remaining $124,000.00 today?
HERE IS MY PLAN: Feed Someone
“You cannot notice what-is and complain about it and be a vibrational match to the solutions. When you notice a problem, you can also begin to wonder, seek, or ask for the solutions. So, there’s never a reason for you to be wallowing around in a problem for more than about a second. You can get so good at this focus pivot that before you are even aware that the problem has gotten started, you have several solutions under way.” –Ester Abraham Hicks
This week my friends and I had conscious conversations about the state of political sabotage for Americans as well as worldwide access to food, medicine, and caregiving services. We talked about personal experiences or validation data that the tariffs are costing us more money for groceries and other items. We discussed world famine in Gaza, Ukraine and other countries. We lamented the horrors of science being destroyed to support the ego of an old white man. And then we stopped. We pivoted our focus and told each other stories about what is working in our lives today. We brainstormed what actions we can take in our local communities to raise access to food and hope for our neighbors. What is the ratio between “what is wrong in your life” and “what is working in your life?” How fast can you pivot your focus to what else is possible? I am deepening heart connections with my friends. How are you showing up in the world?
$100.00: self-care for mental health. I take time out when life seems overwhelming or like an obstacle course full of danger. I interrupt the doom and gloom wrongness perspective by seeing what is going well. Sometimes this means calibrating with a professional to reboot my point of view. I am seeing possibilities in situations. How does it get even better than that?
$0: Priceless: Access to food and water.
“If you cannot feed a hundred people, then feed just one.” –Mother Teresa
Having conversations about current events activated several of my own judgement dragons. I acknowledge that my ego or judgement dragons’ doom and gloom approach to situations is just a point of view. Also, I can unplug from these fear generators by wondering what else is possible and choosing to respond with love. For example: this week during heart conversations with friends one person shared that her son-in-law was taken by ICE and they do not know where he is at this time. My friend sobbed with fear and sadness. What can I do about it? I recognize the immense loss of life, homes, businesses, jobs, food, medical services and allow myself to feel the sadness of human grief as well as the fear of my friend’s navigating life without knowing the fate of her son-in-law. Then I pivot my thinking to wonder what can I be or do in this moment to make a difference? I am sending love for the well-being of all those affected by ICE-kidnappings. I am sending love for people to have access to clean safe drinking water and plenty of food. I am consciously choosing to live my life with as much joy as I can stand each day, and I am taking action to help others. One thing that I can do is bring supplies to the local food bank. When we help one person, we are part of the solution for all. How does it get better than that? Do something kind today.
Respond to life with love. Repeat. What would it take?
Do you know where the food banks are in your community?
$102,000.00: The first Friday in September is National Food Bank Day. We can all consider contributing a can or more of food to help feed others. These dollars are being donated to support access to information on where to find free food in your state. Learn more from several sources here: Food Pantries and or Feeding America – Find your Local Food Bank
$20,900.00: This money is supporting The American Red Cross: specifically for wildfire relief work. Their mission is “to prevent and alleviate human suffering in the face of emergencies by mobilizing the power of volunteers and the generosity of donors.” How can you help? Learn more here: The Red Cross
Respond to life with love. Repeat. What would it take?
$1000.00: This week’s date includes a trip to the food pantry to donate a box of nonperishable items. Then we are going to hike a new trail together.
How much love can you stand?
Flow Five Friday: Current “real” life expressions of gratitude, love and contribution to well-being.
$5.00: This week’s five-dollar bill is inside the book The Lunch Thief by Anne Bromley and illustrated by Robert Casilla. It is inside a Little Free Library with lunch money for the person who finds it. I am choosing to be the energy of what works in life.
Five increments of time: I am reading with school children over zoom. It is such a delight to be invested in the future by listening to a young person read a story out loud. Being there; how does it get better than that? How are you “Flowing Five” this week?
Well-Being: Something that I am doing or not doing for self-care in real time.
My husband and I have one slow dance together when walking dogs in the pasture each night and he kisses me for 10 seconds before I go to bed (he comes to bed later). We have added holding hands for at least 60 seconds. These connection points are small and yet powerful relationship fuel. What are you doing or not doing for self-care?
Planet Awareness: Contributing to the health of Earth.
“Without a sense of caring, there can be no sense of community.” –A.J. Dangelo
There are many wildfires raging in the United States and Canada today. Now, we wear masks when outside due to the ash. This fact prompts me to share the American Red Cross advice regarding what we can do to prevent forest fires in our communities. They recommend that we all “Create empty space between shrubs and trees to reduce the chance of flames leaping between them. Prune trees above the height of bushes and shrubs (approximately 6’-10’ off the ground) and remove dead branches. Mow grassy areas regularly so that the grass is never more than 4” high.” You can find more information on fire prevention from the organization called One Tree Planted. What are you doing for the health of our planet?
Hold Space or Contribute to a Friends Life Intention
This week I am supporting my friend Kimberly, who is navigating unexpected live changes. One of her living intentions is to be a loving mother. Kimberly is moving her daughter and grandchildren into her home this month. One way that you can help support Kimberly’s living intention is to imagine her sons-in-law is safe and can return home. Or you can just reach out to your friends and family. Tell them that they are loved. Reach out today. You matter to me. You are loved just for being you!
Choose joy. Be kind. Love others and strive to be a better human. What would it take?
